PPA Announces Family Portrait Month

Press Release—Once again, studios across the country will join together this October to benefit Operation Smile, a nonprofit organization that works to provide free reconstructive surgery to children with facial deformities such as cleft lips and cleft palates. Professional Photographers of America (PPA) has designated October as Family Portrait Month. Professional photographers who pledge to donate a portion of Family Portrait Month sales to PPA Charities will benefit charatible partner Operation Smile.

More than $15,000 was raised during last year’s drive and more PPA member studios have pledged to contribute a portion of this year’s October sales to the cause.

Operation Smile, aided by more than 5,000 specialized healthcare professional volunteers since 1982, performs free surgeries on thousands of children annually. Each year more than 100,000 children are born with facial deformities in Operation Smile's 23 mission countries.

A complete marketing kit—including ad slicks, news releases, and promotional tips—has been developed by Ann Monteith and Marathon Press to ensure that your participation in this promotion is successful. The promotion is designed to attract new clients to your studio, encourage repeat business and to help children in need. PPA members can order their promotional kit online.
