Q. WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO ENTER?
A. This competition is open to any and all photographers, at any skill level.

Q. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO ENTER?
A. There is no entry fee.

Q. WHEN IS THE ENTRY DEADLINE?
A. All entries must be submitted by 12:00 midnight EST on May 31, 2008.

Q. WHEN WILL THE WINNERS BE ANNOUNCED?
A. The winners will be announced in the fall of 2008.

Q. WHAT ARE THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS?
All work submitted must be original and previously unpublished, and you must have written releases on file from any subjects pictured in the image. Entrant must have captured and created the original exposure. All digital manipulation must have been performed by the entrant. You may enter as many images as you wish. Failure to comply with these rules may result in disqualification of entry. The decision of the Contest judges is final.

By entering you certify that you have obtained all necessary releases and you agree to defend and indemnify Professional Photographers of America, Professional Photographer magazine and PPA allied associations against any and all claims or liabilities arising out of or relating to its consideration, display, publication and promotion or other use of each photograph or other material submitted. PPA reserves the right to require additional releases before publication. Decisions of the Contest judges are final.

By entering, you grant Professional Photographers of America, Professional Photographer magazine and PPA allied associations a non-exclusive license to use the images submitted for purposes related to the contest and any future contest, including but not limited to advertising, display promotion, publication or other purposes and in any format. A photo credit shall be granted for any such use.

Q. HOW MANY IMAGES MAY I ENTER?
A. An individual may enter as many images as he or she wishes in the competition.

Q. WHAT FORMATS/SPECIFICATIONS DO YOU ACCEPT FOR SUBMITTING MY IMAGES?
A. Only digital files will be accepted. Print images and e-mailed images will NOT be accepted. Submit low-resolution images only, in standard digital formats (.jpg, .pdf, etc.). Images should be 525x700 pixels; file size can’t be more than 250k. A high-resolution, print-quality version (300ppi at 9x12 inches) must be available for each image. PLEASE NOTE: Entries not complying with the contest format and entry requirements will be subject to disqualification.

Q. HOW WILL ENTRIES BE JUDGED?
A. Images will be judged on technical and artistic merit.
You may submit as many images as you wish, provided they are representative of the work you sell to your clients. What we’re seeking
are real-world examples of portrait, wedding, commercial and event photography. Selection will be conducted Professional Photographer magazine’s creative team. Those finalists will then be judged by both Professional Photographer’s creative staff and guest judge Helen K. Yancy, M.Photog.M.Artist.MEI.Cr.Hon. M.Photog., CPP, F-ASP, Hon. F-ASP, the chairman of PPA’s Print Exhibition Committee.

Q. DOES A PURCHASE INCREASE MY CHANCE OF WINNING?
A. Absolutely not. When you enter, you may be asked to receive subscription promotions. Consenting is optional and does not have to be agreed to in order to be eligible to enter the Contest and does not improve your chances of winning.
